Social Media Might Be Annoying…But It Works

Social media might not be your favorite part of running a business, but it’s still one of the strongest marketing tools you have. It’s free. It’s fast. And it gives you a direct line to the people you want to work with or sell to. I know it can feel repetitive or overwhelming, but ignoring it entirely means missing out on connection, visibility, and growth.

I’ve worked with business owners who are incredible at what they do but stay hidden because they don’t want to post. They get stuck overthinking, comparing, or just not knowing what to share. The thing is, people aren’t looking for perfect. They just want to see you. They want to know what you offer, how it helps, and what it feels like to work with you.

You don’t need a viral strategy or to post seven days a week. You just need a consistent presence that shows your face, your work, and your values. Even one post a week that’s honest and on brand makes a difference. The more you show up, the more familiar you become. That familiarity is what builds trust, and trust is what sells.

There are ways to make it easier. Batch your content. Reuse what works. Keep a folder of stories, tips, or past results you can cycle through. When you stop trying to make every post a masterpiece, it all gets lighter. Social media is a tool, not a test. It works best when you use it in a way that actually fits your life.

You don’t have to love it. But if you want to grow, it’s worth making peace with it. Because the truth is, people are watching. And when they see you show up with clarity and consistency, it makes it that much easier to say yes when it’s time to buy or book.
